This Lux Trading Firm review examines a London-based prop firm that markets itself as a professional, long-term career path rather than a quick challenge shop. Our verdict: Lux is built for disciplined traders who want to grow an account over years, with a static 6% drawdown, no trading-day requirements and a scaling ladder that reaches $10 million. The price of entry is a strict risk framework (mandatory stop losses, per-trade risk caps and a single-trade profit cap) and a flat 80% split. Most traders will not pass, and the fee is a real cost, although Lux refunds it once the evaluation is cleared.

Challenge types and pricing
Lux’s core product is the 1-Step Evaluation: a single demo stage where you hit a profit target within the risk limits, then move to funded stages. There is also INSTA, which skips the evaluation but does not scale and has a non-refundable fee, plus newer prediction-market and crypto account types that we did not review in detail. Prices are in pounds sterling:
| Starting account | Fee | Evaluation target | Max loss (static) |
|---|---|---|---|
| $100,000 | £199 | 10% ($10,000) | $6,000 |
| $400,000 | £449 | 12% ($48,000) | $24,000 |
| $1,000,000 | £699 | 15% ($150,000) | $60,000 |
Reset fees after a failed evaluation are £139 for $100K, £299 for $400K and £699 for $1M. A separate product page for the $1M MT5 account showed £999 during our check, so confirm the price at checkout. Passing the evaluation triggers a 100% fee refund, subject to risk desk approval.
Be aware that some comparison and marketing pages on Lux’s own site describe different rules (a two-phase model, 5%/10% drawdown or up to 90% split). We have relied on the official trading rules page and the 1-Step Evaluation page, which agree with each other.
Trading rules
Drawdown and risk per trade
The maximum loss is static at 6% of the starting balance and does not move up as you make money. The rules page does not list a separate daily loss limit. Instead, Lux controls risk trade by trade: each position (or group of correlated positions) may risk at most 5% of your remaining risk capital, defined as current balance minus the drawdown floor. Lux also expects you to use a consistent percentage of that capital on each trade within a stage.
Stop loss and profit cap
A stop loss is mandatory at entry; adding it later is a breach. No single trade may realise more than 5% of the stage profit target (for example $500 on a $10,000 target), and splitting an entry to dodge the cap is treated as cheating. This rule effectively rules out home-run trading.
News, weekends and automation
- No minimum or maximum trading days.
- You may not adjust stop losses within 30 seconds either side of a news event, and news bracketing with opposing pending orders is banned.
- High-frequency trading and fully automated EAs that generate excessive trades are prohibited; well-behaved robots are allowed via trade copying or Match-Trader.
- Up to five evaluation accounts can run at once and copy each other.
Profit split, payouts and scaling
Funded stages pay an 80% profit split. Lux does not use payout cycles: you can withdraw whenever the funded account is in profit, though open positions must be closed at the time of withdrawal, and withdrawn profits still count toward the stage target.
Scaling is the main attraction. Each time you make 10% on a funded stage, the account steps up. From $100K the path runs $200K, $400K, $1M, $2.5M and finally $10M, where Lux calls you a fund manager. Starting at $400K or $1M skips the early rungs. A risk manager is assigned from the funded stage onward, and ignoring their guidance can lead to account closure.
Platforms and instruments
Lux lists MT4, Match-Trader, TradingView and Trader Evolution, and sells MT5 account variants too. You can also connect another broker or prop account and copy trades into a Lux account on Match-Trader. The firm says any asset class can be traded and publishes a symbols list; leverage is not stated on the official pages we checked, but independent directories list up to 1:30.
Company, trust and payout record
The brand is operated by Lux Trading Firm Ltd, a UK company (number 13160991) at 128 City Road, London, alongside a Dubai entity, Lux Trading Firm ME L.L.C-FZ. Both state that they only carry out prop trading and training, do not perform regulated activities and are not brokers. Lux names FX Edge as its liquidity provider partner. The footer copyright runs from 2020, and PropFirmMap dates the firm’s launch to January 2021, so it has roughly five years of history.
We found no reports in our sources of Lux closing or suspending payouts. The main trust issue is clarity: SEO-style pages on its own website quote rules that conflict with the official rules page, which can confuse buyers. The firm’s strict rules are transparent on the rules page itself, which is a positive.
Who it suits
- Patient swing and position traders who already use stop losses on every trade.
- Traders aiming for a multi-year scaling path rather than fast payouts.
- UK-based traders who value a UK-registered counterparty.
Our Lux Trading Firm review finds it is a poor fit for scalpers, news traders, aggressive risk-takers and anyone with a small budget who wants a $5K–$25K starter account.
Final verdict on our Lux Trading Firm review
Lux is not the easiest prop firm to pass, but it is one of the more serious ones: static drawdown, no day counting, a refundable fee and a genuine route to eight-figure allocations. The per-trade risk and profit caps, flat 80% split and inconsistent marketing pages hold it back. Expect most attempts to fail, size risk carefully and check the live rules on the official Lux Trading Firm website before paying.

FAQ
How much does Lux Trading Firm cost?
As of November 2026 the evaluation costs £199 for a $100K account, £449 for $400K and £699 for $1M, according to the firm's 1-Step Evaluation page. The fee is refunded in full after you pass the evaluation stage, subject to risk desk approval.
What is the maximum loss at Lux Trading Firm?
The maximum loss is a static 6% of the starting balance, for example $6,000 on a $100K account. It does not trail upward with profits. The rules page does not state a separate daily loss limit, but each trade may risk no more than 5% of your remaining risk capital.
What profit split does Lux pay?
Funded accounts pay an 80% profit split. Withdrawals can be requested at any time once the account is in profit, with no fixed payout cycle.
Is Lux Trading Firm regulated?
No. Lux Trading Firm Ltd is a UK-registered company and has a Dubai entity, but both state they do only prop trading and training, carry out no regulated activities and do not accept client deposits.
Do I need a stop loss at Lux?
Yes. A stop loss must be placed when you enter a trade. Adding it afterwards counts as a rule breach, and repeated breaches can fail the evaluation.
