Vantage was established in Sydney in 2009 as Vantage FX and dropped the “FX” from its name in November 2021; today it trades as Vantage Markets, a multi-entity CFD and forex broker. Its group includes a UK FCA-authorised firm and an ASIC-licensed Australian company. Most traders who sign up through the global website vantagemarkets.com, however, open accounts with an offshore company licensed in Vanuatu. This Vantage review covers its accounts and fees as of November 2026, but focuses on the point that matters most when choosing this broker: which Vantage you are actually dealing with. Our verdict: Vantage has real top-tier licences, but international clients get offshore-level protection. A UK regulator warning in 2026 about the global domain is a clear reason to check your entity before depositing.

Regulation and safety

Vantage operates through several companies, each with a different regulator and a different level of protection.

Top-tier entities

  • United Kingdom: Vantage is a trading name of Vantage Global Prime LLP, which the FCA identifies as an authorised firm with reference number 590299. Its UK site says client funds are held in segregated accounts at National Westminster Bank and Barclays. UK retail clients are subject to FCA leverage limits and product rules.
  • Australia: Vantage Global Prime Pty Ltd holds an Australian financial services licence and is listed among the CFD issuers in ASIC’s Report 828 (January 2026). In June 2018, ASIC accepted a court enforceable undertaking from this company. The undertaking followed findings that it lacked adequate systems to stop employees misusing confidential client trading information. The company agreed to an independent review, staff training and a A$95,000 community benefit payment.

Offshore and other entities

The global website says international accounts are opened with Vantage Global Limited, regulated by the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission. The VFSC financial dealers list shows Vantage Global Limited (company number 700271) as licensed since 22 August 2023, holding classes A, B and C, with Active status. Vanuatu is an offshore jurisdiction with lighter capital, conduct and compensation rules than the UK or Australia.

The group footer also lists the following:

  • Vantage International Group Limited, regulated by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority under Securities Investment Business licence 1383491. CIMA’s own licensee list shows this licence dated 25 May 2018.
  • Vantage Markets (Pty) Ltd, regulated by South Africa’s FSCA (licence 51268).
  • VIG Group, regulated by Mauritius’ FSC (licence GB20026165).
  • Vantage International Holding Limited, a Seychelles company (registration 171730) for which no regulator is named.

The 2026 FCA warning

On 2 April 2026, the UK FCA published a warning about vantagemarkets.com. It says the firm is not authorised by the FCA and may be providing services to people in the UK without permission. The FCA states that the site is not associated with the FCA-authorised Vantage Global Prime LLP. For UK residents, this means only the UK entity offers Financial Ombudsman and FSCS access. For everyone else, it shows that the regulatory badge on the brand does not automatically apply to your account.

Fees and spreads

Vantage’s help centre lists three main account types for international clients, as of November 2026. All three can be held in nine base currencies: USD, GBP, CAD, AUD, EUR, SGD, NZD, HKD and JPY.

Account Spread from Commission Minimum deposit
Standard STP About 1.1 pips None (except some ETF and stock products) 50 in account currency (400 HKD / 5,000 JPY)
Raw ECN 0.0 pips From $3.00 per lot per side 50 in account currency
Pro ECN 0.0 pips From $1.50 per lot per side $10,000

Commission is charged in your base currency. The Standard STP figure comes from an independent review rather than the help centre, which describes those spreads only as low. On Raw ECN, a round turn on one standard lot costs about $6 in commission plus the raw spread. Also check swaps, funding charges and dormant-account fees in your entity’s client agreement.

Accounts and leverage

Standard STP suits traders who want a simple, commission-free cost, while Raw ECN is aimed at experienced and short-term traders, according to the help centre. Pro ECN, with its $10,000 minimum, targets professional traders, institutions and fund managers. The UK entity lists a slightly different line-up: Standard STP, RAW ECN, Premium ECN and a spread betting account. Vantage’s own profile says it offers more than 1,000 CFD products across forex, indices, commodities, shares, ETFs and bonds. For this Vantage review we also used an independent breakdown: 60+ currency pairs, 30+ indices, 800+ share CFDs, 50+ ETFs, 7 bonds and 60+ crypto CFDs.

According to Vantage’s international help centre, every live account type starts with a default leverage of 1:500. Clients can change this in the client portal or in the Vantage App after accepting the relevant terms. This is far above the retail caps that apply under the FCA and ASIC, which shows how different the offshore offering is. Leverage at this level can wipe out an account quickly, and most retail CFD traders lose money. Vantage also has a swap-free account article in its help centre, but we could not open it to confirm the conditions.

Platforms and tools

Vantage runs its own mobile app, the Vantage App, which also handles account settings such as leverage, alongside a web-based client portal. Raw ECN and Pro ECN clients get free access to the Vantage ProTrader platform and technical analysis tools, according to the help centre. Independent reviews also list MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 and TradingView integration, which we could not confirm on an official page this month. Demo accounts are available, including for the Standard STP and Raw ECN account types.

Deposits and withdrawals

Vantage’s help centre does not publish a fixed list of funding methods. It says the available methods vary by region and change over time, and that clients should log in to the client portal to see their options and current bank details. Make sure any payment you send goes to an account in the name of your contracting Vantage entity.

Who Vantage suits, and who should avoid it

  • Reasonable fit: UK and Australian residents who open accounts with the FCA- or ASIC-regulated entities; experienced traders outside those regions who understand and accept Vanuatu-level oversight.
  • Avoid or proceed carefully: UK residents being offered accounts through vantagemarkets.com, given the FCA warning; beginners attracted by 1:500 default leverage; anyone who needs a statutory compensation scheme but would be onboarded offshore.

Vantage review: final verdict

Vantage is a genuine group with FCA, ASIC and Cayman licences, and its offshore Vanuatu licence is active on the regulator’s own list. Still, the global brand and the regulated entities are not the same thing. Most international clients sign up with Vantage Global Limited in Vanuatu, and in April 2026 the FCA warned that vantagemarkets.com is not authorised to serve UK residents. On costs, Raw ECN pricing from 0.0 pips plus $3.00 per side is competitive, and a $50 minimum keeps the entry point low. Vantage can make sense if you know which entity you are joining and keep leverage conservative. If top-tier protection is your priority, open an account only through the UK or Australian entity, where you are eligible.

FAQ

Is Vantage regulated?

Yes, but regulation depends on the entity. Vantage Global Prime LLP is authorised by the UK FCA (FRN 590299), and Vantage Global Prime Pty Ltd holds an ASIC licence. International sign-ups through vantagemarkets.com are opened with Vantage Global Limited, which is licensed by the Vanuatu FSC, an offshore regulator.

Which Vantage entity will hold my account?

It depends on where you live and which website you use. UK clients are served by the FCA-authorised LLP through vantagemarkets.co.uk, and Australian clients by the ASIC-licensed company. Most other international clients sign up with the VFSC-licensed Vantage Global Limited. Check the client agreement before you deposit.

Did the FCA issue a warning about vantagemarkets.com?

Yes. On 2 April 2026 the FCA published a warning that vantagemarkets.com is not authorised by it and may be targeting people in the UK. The warning states it is not associated with the FCA-authorised firm Vantage Global Prime LLP. UK residents should use only the FCA-authorised entity.

What leverage does Vantage offer?

Vantage’s international help centre says all trading account types come with a default leverage of 500 (1:500), which can be changed in the client portal or app. UK and Australian retail clients are subject to lower regulatory caps. High leverage magnifies losses as well as gains.

What is the minimum deposit and commission at Vantage?

As of November 2026, Vantage’s help centre lists a minimum deposit of 50 in your account currency for Standard STP and Raw ECN, and $10,000 for Pro ECN. Raw ECN charges from $3.00 per lot per side and Pro ECN from $1.50, while Standard STP has no commission.
